Run4Water with Katie Spotz

Katie set off on an 11-day journey running across the state of Ohio to raise funds for 11 clean water projects in Uganda. Local runners in Cincinnati, Columbus, and Cleveland were invited to join Katie for the first part of her run in true Forrest Gump style.

March 2021

31 for 3.1 challenge

Katie committed to run 3.1 miles (5k) every day in the month of March in honor of World Water Day. 31 athletes and everyday heroes were invited to join the challenge by running every day or any day in March. Together, they funded a clean water project in Ethiopia.

September 6, 2020

Run4Water: The Final Miles

Runners joined Katie during the final 3.1 miles (5k) of her Run4Water across Maine, a 138-mile run across the state of Maine, becoming the first to do it.

May 2012

Katie challenged ten schools in Ohio to raise funds for ten schools-based water projects in Kenya. To celebrate reaching their target and raising $100,000 for water, all schools met to break the world record for the most number of people carrying jugs of water on their heads.

raising the barre for clean water: virtual barre class

An evening of barre hosted by Katie and led a by top barre instructor Emily Sferra to celebrate Earth Day. Every dollar raised from the event was matched by Clear Water Filtration, enabling us to surpass our fundraising goal for a school in Honduras.

Winter 2020/2021

coasters for a cause

Katie made and sold up-cycled coasters in the Portland, Maine area. Coasters were made from nautical charts with all proceeds directly supporting global clean water projects on behalf of H2O for Life.

Yoga for Water: Virtual Yoga Class and Charity Fundraiser

An evening of yoga hosted by Katie and led by top yoga instructor Kat Cynewski. We met on our mats, got moving with some yoga flows and raised some money for charity while doing so. 100% of funds raised went directly to fund a water project in Tanzania.
