In 2022, Spotz faced one of her greatest physical setbacks yet — a fully-ruptured ACL. Katie tested the limits by embarking on Zero to 26.2, running a marathon less than one year after surgery.
In April 2022, ultra-endurance athlete and world-record holder, Katie Spotz, faced one of her greatest physical setbacks yet — enduring a fully-ruptured ACL, partially ruptured MCL, and sprained wrist while embarking on a previous adventure, Skate 4 Water.
Zero to 26.2 was Katie’s comeback from surgery, testing the limits with a marathon, less than one year after the accident.
But it’s was more than an adventure, it was an opportunity to raise funds for a 735 people in Reque, Peru gain access to clean water and sanitation.

Despite a torn ACL and MCL, Spotz completed a 119-mile skate across the Florida Keys, supporting efforts to bring clean water to communities in Haiti.
Katie Spotz and her adventure pal, Hannah Sleight, embarking on a 119-mile journey crossing 44 total islands from Key Largo to Key West on in-line skates. As a result, 500 people in Haiti gained access to clean water, sanitation, and hygiene education.

Spotz set a new Guinness World Record in 2021, running the most consecutive ultramarathons (11) ever completed by a woman.
Spotz began her 341-mile journey on June 21, 2021 in Cincinnati, running along the Ohio to Erie trail until she reached the end of the trail in Cleveland, Ohio on July 1, 2021. This journey was an attempt to break the Guiness World Record for running the most ultramarathons in a row. After running 31-miles a day (50km) for 11 days, she reached her goal having raised funds for 11 clean water projects in Uganda along the way surpassing her original goal of raising $34,100 for H2O for Life.

In 2015 and again in 2019, Katie raced 435 miles over seven days across New Zealand’s North and South Islands, competing alongside 150 cyclists from around the world.

Completing the race in 11:36, Spotz raised over $10,000 to fund water projects serving communities in India while finishing the full Ironman distance: a 2.4-mile swim, 112-mile bike ride, and 26.2-mile run.
This marks Katie’s 5th successful Ironman finish in a time of 11:39. She raised funds for a school in Kenya and Uganda.

In June 2017, after nineteen hours and 53 minutes, Katie placed 2nd overall female in the 100 mile distance. This finish marked Katie's third successful 100-mile run in less than a year.
