Many of the families DigDeep serves don’t have running water, making it difficult to wash their hands, stay clean, and protect their health—especially during COVID-19. In response, DigDeep created a “suitcase system,” allowing them to install an outdoor faucet so families could safely access clean water when indoor work wasn’t possible. Now, these temporary systems are being converted into full Home Water Systems, bringing running water indoors and creating a lasting improvement in families’ health and daily lives.

Now more than ever, every American deserves the ability to stay home and stay safe—and clean water makes that possible. Many of the families served by DigDeep on the Navajo Nation lack running water, making it difficult to wash hands or protect their health during COVID-19. To help, 275-gallon water tanks are being provided and connected to regular water deliveries while families wait for full Home Water System installation. These tanks offer a safe, short-term solution and will continue to be used to meet urgent water needs.
